Hello and welcome. I am a dually Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor working in the state of Indiana. I consider it my honor to walk this journey with you and thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity. I have been fortunate to serve as a therapist in a variety of settings for nearly two decades. My therapeutic approach can best be describes as person-centered and holistic. I am trained in Illness Management and Recovery, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, addictions approaches, family systems therapy, and a variety of eclectic approaches that can be tailored to fit the needs of each individual client. I truly believe in the therapeutic process and relationship.

During sessions, you can expect much support and reinforcement (and some gentle challenging) in a safe and collaborative environment. While we may wish it, therapists do not hold the answers for others. We function more like trail guides so that when you are standing in the dark or unknown, we can illuminate the path that has been there all along. And just as that guide merely shows the path, a therapist cannot do the work for you. This is a team event until you are able to take all the skills and tools you've learned and apply them. My goal is to work myself out of a job for every single client I meet.

I believe in the value of work/life balance and will practice what I preach. But I will also promise the gift of 100% of my time and attention when we are together for live video/phone sessions. And we can follow up with chat or email between sessions to ensure you get the best possible experience. I look forward to our journey together.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Elizabeth is an amazing therapist! She has given me so many tools and helped me realize strengths and support I didn't know I had!

Reviewed December 2023

Elizabeth is so easy to talk to, kind, understanding and helpful. She’s got a wonderful set of skills to help with any challenge. I’ve grown so much from her help!

Reviewed December 2023

Beth has been the closest I've ever gotten to feeling understood by a total stranger. She's very good at reminding me that "maybe" is always an option, and how powerful that can be when you're fighting your demons. I didn't know what I needed when I came to BetterHelp, but with her help, even if she ever retires or I have to stop the service, for once I really have a direction in my own mental health. And that is amazing.

Reviewed December 2023

She’s amazing at what she does and offers support in a kind compassionate way. She is able to challenge my negative thinking patterns in a way that doesn’t feel harsh or judgmental. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling to see past their own negative thoughts.

I have come to truly trust and respect Beth as a friend, a confidant, and incredibly knowledgeable person! She has opened up emotions in me I didn't know I was missing. I can't begin to explain how much her time and compassion has meant to my healing. Blessings to her!

Beth is an excellent therapist, I have been seeing her for over a year now and she has really helped me develop better thought processes and healthier patterns of behavior. She explains mental processes around trauma in a way that is comprehensive and easy to look back on to navigate future situations. She makes me feel validated and heard.

Elizabeth is an excellent therapist. She is a great listener and gives me new skills to communicate more effectively in my life . It is very helpful.

Reviewed August 2023

I did not think therapy would help me at all. I have been trained with many of the same basic educational information. That being said, I have been amazed with as little as I have already shared, how Elizabeth can get through all the chatter and actually zero in on the issue. Her perspective is also spot on and challenges me to see things from a different point of view. I am still not sure therapy is the answer to my issues but I do have to say it helps to talk with someone that has no vested interest in your life and has an outside view.

Beth was my second councilor here on BetterHelp and I am so happy I switched to her. She is extremely easy to talk to and I never feel like I'm in a petri dish being looked at or that my problems are easy. There is a real respect for my boundaries and I couldn't be happier.

Reviewed July 2023

Being a mental health professional myself, I was apprehensive going into services for my own healthcare. Beth nearly instantly put me at ease with her calm and friendly demeanor. I finally feel SEEN and understood by a therapist. Beth's calm strength is ever apparent. She has the amazing ability to not only follow my stream of consciousness but to always know how to simplify complex situations for me. For the first time in my life, I feel I have found a therapist who can really help me.

I’m so glad I found Elizabeth, because she has helped me so much as I navigate chronic illness, as well as recognizing when my thoughts are hurting rather than helping me. She is very supportive and positive, and an excellent ally.

She has helped me out so much with my self esteem and understanding how I am feeling.

Elizabeth is the type of individual that causes others to feel safe enough to open up. She is warm and friendly but very knowledgeable.

Reviewed August 2022

Beth was amazingly warm and welcoming! It was very easy talking to her She is attentive, concerned, and participates in a conversation with you. She was easy to teach any day! She read and answered my messages, and she read my journal entries! The face to face time with her was productive and I left the session feeling better! I highly reccommend her! Beth is a great therapist!

Reviewed August 2022

Love working with Beth! She not only listens but she also gives feedback and is involved in the conversation! I didn't come to therapy just to vent, I'm looking for tools, and Beth gets that and gives me them.

Reviewed August 2022

Elizabeth is extremely kind and makes an effort to ease the anxious thoughts that can come along with starting therapy. She gives easily applicable advice that feels like it's coming from an old friend. Very thankful to have started this process with her!

Reviewed July 2022

It's really hard to open up with a complete stranger, especially with something that is so traumatic, embarrassing, and personal. Beth made me feel comfortable enough to do this and for that, I am grateful and glad that I reached out.

Reviewed July 2022

I have been talking with Elizabeth for several months and she has helped me navigate many situations that I didn’t think I was capable of navigating. She listens and allows for self discovery and reflection.

Reviewed April 2022

I have really enjoyed talking to Elizabeth over the last several weeks. She has been very helpful guiding me through my issues and I highly recommend her to anyone who is in need or just needs someone to talk to.

Reviewed November 2021

Elizabeth’s understanding of the intricacies surrounding suicide and grief are unlike any counselor or group therapist I have ever met. In 10 years of searching for some kind of relief from the pain of losing my son, Elizabeth expressed the strongest grasp, compassion, and even language, in which I found the most helpful in the very first session.

Reviewed November 2021

Beth is a great listener, who offers alternative viewpoints to look at a situation from, instead of the oftentimes tunnel vision view I'm accustomed to. She's very easy to talk to, doesn't interrupt, and is never pushy about making me discuss anything I'm not comfortable with. The conversation flows naturally and even with just 2 sessions down, she's helped me start seeing the forest for all of the trees, instead of just the tree that's missing leaves. She offers creative solutions to help manage my anxiety and I'm very grateful to have been paired with her.
