Hi There. My name is Lisa Walton, LCSW. I am licensed in the states of Florida and Tennessee to provide clinical therapy & counseling services. I have over 13 years of clinical counseling experience and 20 years of working with mostly at-risk clients in the social services setting. I have worked with a diverse population adults, adolescents, and children in various settings including psychiatric facility, group home, state penitentiary school, in home, and on military installations. I have provided therapy in the form of individual, family, couples, and group therapy as well as facilitating psycho-education groups on coping with mental health symptoms. My experiences have allowed me to work with special populations such as: at-risk youth, child abuse victims & offenders, domestic violence victims & offenders, delinquent youth, criminal offenders, psychiatric patients, LGBTQ, and active-duty military members.
My therapeutic approach tends to be client centered, empathic, and supportive to empower the client(s) to feel empowered to overcome their specific challenges and obstacles in their lives. I typically use narrative, solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing therapy techniques when working with my clients depending on clinical assessment, client needs, and specific client issues. I maintain the highest levels of professional standards and ethics in all encounters with clients. I am flexible with clients’ scheduling needs as I understand that life can be somewhat complicated. I look forward to establishing a warm, empathic, supportive, and professional relationship with all of my clients.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Lisa has helped me work through and guide through root cause of what I’m in therapy for!
Lisa is great with listening to what I feel needs addressing as well as helping guide me through what lies deeper, how to express these things, and methods for moving forward.
Lisa’s diversely unique career experience and commitment to continuous learning provides her the knowledge and capabilities to successfully work closely with marginalized and generalized populations alike. Her down to earth nature and strength based approach provides all clients the space to capitalize on their best parts; all while exploring their lows with grace and curiosity as opposed to shame or outward judgement. As long as the client shows the willingness to learn, she will support them during all parts of their recovery journey by providing honest and realistic feedback.
