Are you ready to improve your mental heath and willing to put the work in to do it? I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida, Kansas and New York, and a board certified Tele-mental health counselor. I have been treating clients in a variety of settings to include forensics, foster care and adult mental health. A variety of mental health concerns that I address include, but are not limited to, sexual addiction, anxiety, depression, phase of life problems, relationships issues, nutrition/exercise, and other mental health concerns. I utilize various counseling theories and techniques to tailor each session to my client's needs. I believe in a holistic and natural approach in order to have a balanced life. When or if desired, physical wellness can be a focus as I have personal training experience. Christian counseling is also available to those who desire this as well. Each person that enters counseling in my practice is considered unique and will be treated fairly without fear of judgment. The only thing that I ask of you is that you are READY TO WORK and that you are looking to put in the work necessary to make the changes that are needed to make it to your goals. You are your own agent of change! I'm only here to guide you along through the process of this and to support you as you need it! Looking forward to working with you on this journey!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I’m only at the beginning of my healing journey. Honestly, I should’ve done this years ago, but I strongly believe there is times and seasons for everything, yes even healing. I couldn’t be happier that God brought such an amazing counselor such as Shannon Brandes into my life. With each session I feel more liberated and powerful. Most importantly I feel validated. Shannon listens and brings great insight into what I’m going through. Whether it’s family issues, view of self or spiritual, she really helps me with it all become more aware of where my issues stem from and gives me great tools to work with. I would most definitely recommend Shannon to anyone and I’m grateful to God for connecting me to her.

I've tried dozens of therapists over several decades. Shannon is my first success at being able to connect. She's an answer to prayers.

Her use of the Deconstructing Anxiety model has absolutely changed my life and has given me the structure and knowledge to understand what is happening in my brain, body and with my emotions and to give me the tools to change my life. I recommend her and this model to everyone who really wants to change their lives to one that is more fulfilled and less out of fear!

Shannon has been key in helping me discover a method that works for me and validating the work I'm doing. We are definitely a good fit as I tend to be analytical about alot of things and we mesh really well that way!

Shannon Brandes is knowledgeable and has great resources available. She listens and really helps identify the core fear that is at the root of the problems I'm struggling with. She is honest in her feedback and really helps process things from different perspectives.

She has helped me to deal with numerous issues in my life. By first just listening to all you have to say. Never just do this or that, but seeing what your mind and soul needs to work on to move to the next step.

I have been in therapy for most of my life and this is the first time I believe that my therapist is actually listening to me and helping me solve my core anxiety issues. Shannon Brandes is an excellent mental health professional. Thank you for helping me become the woman I know I can be.

I’ve only had one session, but I can tell she really cares and is not fake, but real. I’ve been impressed with how she responds and asks questions

Reviewed May 2021

Shannon Brandes is everything i’ve been trying to find in a counselor. i’ve been through so much therapy that is just talking about my life events and learning strategies to calm myself down when i’m experiencing anxiety, which i needed, but now i’m equipped. Shannon offers a holistic approach and exercises that truly make you learn things about yourself that i didn’t think was possible. As soon as i read her bio, i knew it was a great match. it’s productive conversation, not just me talking the entire time explaining life events. she listens to what i say then helps me work through a resolution or acceptance. the phone sessions are only 30 minutes, but it’s the most productive therapy sessions i’ve ever attended. her availability outside of our scheduled sessions is great, too. there’s ongoing conversation and she makes sure i stay on top of what we work on.

Reviewed April 2021

Shannon is very in tune with what resources will help me work through things. She keeps the progress moving forward and finds ways to keep me motivated to do the work. She keeps the subject we are working on relatable to my personal issues, not just theory. I always get something valuable out of our sessions and homework.
