Do you often find yourself struggling to sort out your thoughts and feelings about events in your life? Have there been times in your life when you have wondered if you have made the right choices or if there are other possibilities for you? We have all experienced life changing experiences that have shaped us into the people we are today. Sometimes, a listening ear is all we need. Other times, more in-depth exploration of thoughts and feelings is needed before you can feel better. Whichever situation fits for you, I am here to help.
I have been in practice for over 20 years and have had experience working with a diverse group of individuals, couples, and families. Together, we have explored trauma events and their impact on individuals and families, family relationships, couples’ issues, and depression, anxiety, infidelity, spiritual dilemmas, and other experiences that have an effect on day-to-day living. My experience extends to adults of all ages, including an older population and caregivers. I am open to working with couples who are experiencing issues, particularly in the area of communication. Working with individuals who are in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer's Disease are a new and interesting population for me.
For me, counseling is a passion. Being a counselor is a calling, it encompasses me as a person and as a professional. It is my hope that you will contact me for counseling so that I can be your companion on your journey to a more peaceful and satisfying future.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Overall rating:
Diane is awesome. She has helped me work through many tough issues. She’s a gem!
Excellent, understanding, welcoming, knowledgeable!!
Dr. O’Brien has helped me immensely in working through some childhood trauma that have been impacting my quality of life and relationships for decades. She is compassionate and knows how to identify solutions I hadn’t considered. I had been looking for a therapist for over 2 years who would work from a Christian perspective. Very grateful for her perspective. I know she was an answer to prayer. Highly recommend her.
I found my time with Dr O'Brien very helpful and very much appreciated her advice and would look forward to meeting with her again in the future if I decide to sign up for more sessions.
Dr. O’Brien is truly amazing.
I felt comfortable speaking with Dr. O’Brien right from the first moment. She was empathetic and understanding. I never felt judged or silly. She gave me worksheets and homework between sessions and advice on what to work on. I found her to be calm and helpful.
Dr. O’Brien is very knowledgeable in the areas that I needed guidance, she also listens and gives me clear understanding of my concerns. I highly recommend her.
