Hi! My name is Rebecca.
I started working in the mental health field 27 years ago and have spent the last 16 of them providing individual, family, and group therapy.
I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Criminology and a Master of Social Work degree. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri, a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Arkansas and have extensive experience working in residential treatment, private practice, clinic, and hospital settings. I have worked closely with children and adolescents in the foster care system, persons on parole from federal prison, and college students as well as persons recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and strokes. The majority of my experience has been working with adults with a variety of mental health and substance abuse issues. For the last five years I have been an outpatient therapist at a community mental health center assisting people to better manage depression, anxiety, abuse and trauma, anger, relational issues, and coping with life changes. I always say becoming a therapist is what I was meant to do as I did not set out toward this path but it found me and drew me to it.
I have an easy and approachable style with clients and have been told I am easy to talk to. When a client is speaking with me it is a no-judgement zone. I practice unconditional acceptance of clients the way they are as well as how they want to be. I believe you are the expert on you and my job is to help you make the changes you want to make so you can get to where you want to be.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
