Hello and Welcome! I am looking forward to getting to know you. My name is Lisa Miller and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S). I have been in this field for over 20 years. I chose this career path because I enjoy working with people. I look forward to helping you process and develop strategies in order to work through what you are dealing with so that you can live life to the fullest!! It is an honor knowing that people welcome me into their lives allowing me to listen to their personal stories. I have grown both personally and professionally as I have progressed in the field which I have found very rewarding. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ursuline College and went on to obtain my Master's degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. I feel that I have a knack for making people feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease in a non-judgmental setting. Despite being a 'seasoned professional' I feel that I connect very well with people of all ages. I have the most experience working with anxiety, depression, parenting issues, grief/loss, trauma/abuse, relationship conflicts , bipolar disorder and life transitions. I have worked for several community mental health agencies and most recently in a hospital ER setting. With the stigma surrounding people reaching out for help with mental health issues, I would love to offer support in your life and help you move forward to taking care of yourself.

I utilize several different approaches to therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, mindfulness, psycho dynamic therapy and person centered therapy. I like to incorporate several different approaches and techniques when working with clients. I am in this as a partnership with you to create the goals that you would like to set for yourself. In my approach we will work together to find different ways that will help you manage the struggles that you are dealing with.

Keep in mind that you grow through what you go through!!

Nobody can judge you by the chapter in your life that they walked in on!!!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
