Hi! My name is Aliyah Banister and I'm a Licensed Clinical Therapist with over 10 years of experience. I've worked with hundreds of youth, adults, couples, and families. In 2010, I received my master’s from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in Clinical Social Work. I currently specialize with children, youth, and families.
My clients have struggled with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, divorce, relationship conflict, identity, etc. My approach to counseling is eclectic as well as holistic. My aim is to help my clients understand their past, how it may affect their present, and develop coping mechanisms to foster a brighter future.
It takes a lot of guts to reach out for help. I commend you for that. I'm also so happy you are thinking about seeking some advice or considering making a positive change. I look forward to working together to reach your goals!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
