More about Vanessa

  • 6 years' experience

  • LPC

I am a Counselor licensed in Texas with training in strengths-based and goal-focused therapies. I have a master’s degree in Rehabilitation counseling. I have experience working with clients in several areas including Depression, Anxiety, Stress, substance abuse, relationship issues, and career challenges. I have also worked with individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style can be described as welcoming, open, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone equally with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention. I have worked with adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Aside from process therapy, I am also active with psycho-educational therapy, assisting clients to broaden their knowledge and awareness to physical, social and environmental factors of their lifestyles.

I enjoy working with clients who are on a road to healing and recovery, and feel honored to assist them in the journey.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
