Welcome! My name is Brenda Wise and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I also have my CAADC, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have over 29 years of experience working in various counseling settings to include: substance abuse counseling for a drug and alcohol out-patient treatment facility, faith-based counseling, and working with clients struggling with grief, marriage problems, anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. Often times people just need someone to help them get through a difficult time in their lives, counseling provides that additional support.
In order to determine which treatment approach will best help my clients, I evaluate each client’s individual situation then utilize whichever therapeutic technique will be most successful in helping them overcome the obstacles they face. I integrate treatment theories to meet the needs of my clients. My primary focus is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) where I help the client challenge their negative thoughts that will often times lead to negative behaviors. I will also incorporate Psychoeducation as needed to help my client understand possible coping and problem-solving skills.
I would describe my style of counseling as supportive and encouraging. My counseling sessions are centered around the client learning to recognize how to overcome the obstacles in their life and/or relationships. Often times this will include improving communication skills and learning to rebuild trust with self and others. I encourage self-care and discuss the importance of boundaries of self and others. I believe setting goals is imperative for both the individual and the overall treatment process; I believe we all need to establish short-term and long-term goals for ourselves, our relationships, and our careers.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Brenda has been awesome!!
I have had a fantastic experience with Brenda and would strongly recommend her
I have greatly enjoyed having Brenda as my therapist. She is an excellent listener and has helped me grow since I started working with her last year. I’ve made great progress since I have had her on my team and could not imagine working with another therapist at this time.
She’s amazing and gives concrete advise and steps to help you get what you really need. Couldn’t talk more highly of her!
Brenda has been very helpful with chatting with me to put me on the right direction to having a clearer mind while keeping my son in a safe and healthy environment.
Brenda is thoughtful and insightful. There's something in her last name! She encourages adeptly, having a good sense of what I'm ready to take on, but where I might need a little nudge. Tremendously supportive!
Brenda is very knowledgeable, very caring and compassionate. Its been a big help having her help me through some tough times.
I have been working with Brenda since summer 2020. I can not express how much she has helped me grow during these last couple months. She has taught me so much about myself while always remaining unbiased and understanding. Brenda has helped me not only navigate life in a pandemic, but also has helped me manage my anxiety and depression better. I look forward to continuing to work on myself with Brenda's help.
I believe she genuinely cares about what im going through and wants to help me resolve my issues.
Brenda is very knowledgeable and remains unbiased. she’s been a huge help to me so far!
Brenda is amazing! I have worked with various counselors in my life, but her approach with CBT has really helped me deal with ADHD and my eating disorder in a productive way that no one else has even come close to. Additionally, her caring and attentive manner means she is always aware of what I've talked with her about and can tie it into her approach to working with me. I don't know how she remembers it all and manages to bring it back to helping me, but she does. It has made a positive difference in my life.
Brenda has saved my life. I appreciate her and all she does. This Better Help program has had a positive effect on my personal life, my son is also enrolled with a different counselor. Thank you
Ms. Wise is very understanding, non judgmental and great at touching base even when I haven’t been in contact
Very professional, very understanding, strongly recommend.
Within just a few weeks Brenda has made me feel comfortable and understood. The resources she provides are relevant and thoughtful, and the experience has felt very personalized. I really appreciate the different methods of communication that this platform offers, and Brenda uses them all very well.
Brenda has been incredible shes just constantly going and thinking about ways to help me even though I know i'm not her only client. She is so caring and helpful I've already told about 4-5 people about better help just in the first week of using it.
Thanks for your guidance.
