Hello!

My name is Michelle Walsh and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2008 with my BA in social work. I graduated from Fordham University's advanced standing program in 2009 and earned my masters degree in social work and specialized in substance abuse. I have experience working in private practice, outpatient mental health clinics and have also worked in a homeless shelter as well. In addition I have experience working with veterans and their family members. In my ten years of experience I have enjoyed providing my clients with group and individual therapy. I have experience treating clients who have struggled with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance abuse issues, and relationship difficulties just to name a few. I also have a special interest in holistic treatment and modalities such as meditation and I am a certified Reiki Master as well. I believe that what is most important is the relationship and connection you have with the provider you are working with. I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you identify areas of concern that we can work on together. I will be there to listen and support you but most importantly I will help you identify tools and resources you can utilize outside of our sessions that you can implement to help yourself.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Michelle is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve been a client of hers for almost a year and a half and she’s been such a great resource for me to work out my anxiety and daily stresses. Given how hectic the past 18 months have been, I’m confident in saying that I wouldn’t have been able to navigate the challenges I’ve been facing without Michelle’s guidance and expertise. If I could rate her an 11/10 I would!!

I’ve been working with Michelle for about 9 months now and I couldn’t be happier with her. I’ve worked with many therapists throughout my life and while I have considered several to be good therapists, I have never benefitted as much from those experiences as I have from working with Michelle. She is exceptionally competent, caring, reliable, and professional. I feel secure in knowing that I can reach out to her at anytime and she always responds within hours with a caring and helpful response. Additionally, we schedule weekly live chat sessions, which I have found to be incredibly helpful every time. In the time we have worked together, I have been able to decrease my depression and anxiety greatly, and increase my confidence. I am so grateful to Michelle for helping me to make so many positive changes in my life.

Michelle is by far the best counselor I’ve had. After every session I feel like I’ve learned something about myself and that I have a better understanding of how I can keep improving.

Michelle is compassionate, empathetic, patient, and kind. I really appreciate all the things she does to make sure I know that she’s available and accessible, esp. bc I don’t often reach out except for our meetings. She checks in on me in between meetings, and gives me good insight about my issues. I really appreciate her.

Reviewed July 2020

She is one of the best, if not the best counselor’s I’ve had. I feel like she truly understands me and understands what I am feeling. She is always making me question myself as a way to help me realize how deeply I have tangled things in my head.

Michelle is great! She always checks in with me throughout the week to see how I'm doing and every weekly session is productive and really helps me. She also sends me a lot of articles that help me understand things better and work through what I need to. During our weekly sessions, she always makes sure that we're discussing the topics that are important to me and makes sure that we've covered everything that I wanted to. I would highly recommend her!

Michelle has been great to work with — she really listens to me and has helped me tackle issues I felt would never be resolved — I love that she offers advice in a non-judgmental manner and supports me during my ups and downs — she also communicates frequently with me which makes a huge difference in my progress — I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help.

I would just like to send some kind words toward my counselor Michelle Walsh. I've been dealing with major anxiety/depression issues these past few weeks and i signed up to better help because of this. Michelle Walsh has given me the guidance to allow me to make great progress throughout all my troubles. I am so happy I was paired to her as I look forward to messaging her and getting responses all throughout the day. Her live sessions are extremely beneficial to the rest of my week and I look forward to continue my ongoing process with her. I know she will help me more and more as time progresses. Without her I don’t know how I would deal with my issues. She is the best!
