I didn't think therapy was something that worked for me until I met Megan Roy. She is so understanding, kind, and good at her job that I feel very comfortable being vulnerable with her and have found working with her to be incredibly helpful. Could not recommend this counselor enough!

Megan and this platform have been amazing. Full access to a certified therapist that really understood my ongoing struggles from the comfort and safety of my living room have been priceless. I am happy to say she has already changed my life. Can't say enough good things. Thank you so much.

My work focuses on non judgmental acceptance of all folks exactly where they are in their life journey. Starting from this place, we will work together to identify what is going on in your life that is giving you trouble at this time. I have experience helping folks find clarity during relationship transitions, career difficulty, parenting issues and coping with difficult feelings. Although you will be the driver in this relationship, I will offer interventions rooted in challenging negative thought patterns, embracing and expressing emotions and changing behaviors that no longer serve you.

I also believe that the whole person needs to be thought of, not just the isolated issues. We will make sure to check out all the areas of life that may need balance including emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, social and environmental. The phrase "balancing act" exists because balance truly is an action, and these parts of life are always in flux. We will make sure you check in on all corners of yourself.

I think that the platform of live chat and messages between sessions are an important way to stay accountable to taking the actions that are essential for change. We do work during the video sessions and also much of the change happens in between.

I'll leave you with two of my favorite quotes. These two quotes sum up how I view human kind and the starting place of my work:

First some wisdom from Carl Rogers

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

Second my most favorite quote made popular by Maya Angelou

"I am a human being. Nothing human can be alien to me."

I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Although I’ve been working with Megan for less than a month, I feel supported, seen and understood by her. I’m facing a new diagnosis that seems to be touching every area of my life. Her approach is really beautiful, of digging deep into what’s going on, providing a space to be open and honest and real. Plus we are working on developing additional supportive strategies in my life to bring greater joy and ease. I am so grateful for the support of Megan.
