Hi there! My name is Erin Lae, and I am a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Massachusetts licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over fifteen years of counseling experience in a variety of settings, which helps me to be confident and flexible in offering different approaches to best suit your needs. As a military spouse, I have had the opportunity to practice in different communities all over the country and gain expertise in a variety of areas including, relationships, addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Typically, I use a combination of motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but I am also very comfortable with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) and client-centered therapy. I use elements of all of these approaches to tailor my approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each client.

I like to view myself as my client's “Google Maps”. I won't tell you where to go, but I can help you choose a destination and outline some steps to get there. I will be there along the way, gently guiding you back on course when needed. Regardless of what methods I am using, I always bring a straightforward and caring approach and use my sense of humor to help make the overall counseling experience a positive one. I believe that creating a space where you feel comfortable sharing your truth is a cornerstone to creating lasting change and success.
