Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Dr. Subbiah was so helpful to me during very bad post partum anxiety and depressive episodes. Once we worked through that she helped me dig deeper into my PTSD and help me learn coping strategies. She talked with me about my suspected medical diagnosis and encouraged me to speak with my primary doctor. Turns out we were right and now I'm getting the correct help and treatment I need. I think about her often and wish I could just update her on my life. She felt like a friend that I could trust with anything and I use her advice daily.

Dr. Subbiah has been very helpful in treating my PTSD and helping me deal with the symptoms of both OCD and Bipolar Depression. I don't know how I would have gotten through Covid without her. Not only is she compassionate and really listens without making me feel judged or rushed, she's also very experienced and knowledgeable in the various methods of treating complex mental health issues. Her level of expertise isn't going to be found in a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or someone with a master's in social work. She's a great psychologist and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to be her client.
