Hello!
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. I have been working in the mental health field since 2014. I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2014 and began working in a residential treatment center. I started graduate school at the University of South Dakota. I graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Social Work. I then worked in a hospital setting for a short period of time. After that, I went to work at an outpatient mental health clinic in Southwest Minnesota which I have continued working at since. I really enjoy my work and having a positive impact on peoples lives.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, abuse, bullying, relationship issues, parenting, addiction, teen concerns, life changes and concerns that arise during adjustment periods.
My therapeutic style is person-centered, yet relaxed and non-threatening. I will work to build a healthy and beneficial therapeutic relationship with you. I treat everyone with respect and compassion. This includes meeting the client where they are and work on things they feel are most important or impacting them the most. I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is short term and goal oriented. CBT helps clients recognize negative patterns of thinking and behavior that impact their lives and works to provide healthy ways to challenge these thoughts and behaviors. With CBT, it is important to recognize these patterns, which may include me challenging your thought processes and behaviors. Overall, my therapeutic style is based on what the client needs/wants, which we can discuss as we move forward.
It is a big decision to reach out to receive help, you should be proud of yourself for taking this step and realizing you deserve more. I am honored to be able to help you with your concerns and reaching your goals. I am excited to chat with you and can't wait to help!

Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. Margaret is easy to talk to and very respectful. Only 2 sessions but so far so good!
Margaret has been very helpful, she’s a great listener and I feel very comfortable talking to her. She has supported me and offers great advice and things to work on in between meetings.
I've only been working with Margaret for a few weeks, but she has been very helpful for me so far. She is helping me recognize and break bad habits and unhelpful ways of thinking
Margaret is the best therapist I’ve ever worked with. Her ability to ask the right questions, give me honest feed back, compassion, encouragement, and challenge me, and give appropriate homework is a true testament to who she is as a person and how well she takes the time to “get” her clients. I’ve been working with her for quite a while now and hope to for a long time. The strides I’ve made in my personal and professional life are in huge part to our therapy sessions. She’s walked with me through some very dark times and celebrated with me at the best of times. I’m very grateful for her!
Margaret has been kinder to me than anyone else in my life, and I’ve never told her but I cried during our first session when she told me it’s okay to have the feelings I have. I’ve just started and I feel safer knowing she’s my therapist.
Margaret was a great listener. She did not judge me at any point, but rather helped me ask myself the right questions and better understand why I was behaving the way I was behaving.
Margaret is patient, resposive and caring. She shows a desire to undersand me and genuinely wants to help.
Very attentive and efficient with high emotion situations in a short amount of time
I haven't been meeting with her long but she's insightful, responsive, and encouraging. I look forward to continuing to work with her.
Accidentally hit a button without seeing the question!!! Whatever I “strongly disagree” to was an accident!!!!!!
She's willing to help you work through your issues and guide you towards your own solutions.
Margaret has been extremely helpful with finding strategies to help with my self-confidence, anxiety, and depression. She is always a listening ear and provides helpful insight. I definitely feel like she's got my back.
Margaret has been great! Really enjoy our time together. I feel like we make great short term goals and I am able to work through so many issues in our short time together! Highly recommend and having the set date/time for each session is very helpful.
She is very nice and is willing to jump through hoops to set up appointments and helps you really explore the gray areas that some of us may not realize is truly affecting us.
Margaret listened well and gave good advice. I would recommend her for anyone that’s having problems and just need someone to talk to.
Took the time to listen and really understand what I was going through at the time.
Margaret is the one of the few counselors that I have felt connected too. I know what to expect from her and she is always patient with me!
Very easy to talk to and very honest!
Margaret is great at what she does! She approached me with understanding and a listing ear. She is a direct communicator who worked to understand my my perspective and identify key areas that helped my better understand myself.
Margaret is a really good listener. She established goals with me and reminds me that I need to take care of myself. She asks me reflective questions, to help me think outside of my perspective. She reinforces and praises my efforts in reaching my personal goals. I am able to cope more with life struggles and check in a little less.
Margaret is very good at her profession and I’m comfortable talking to her
Only been with her for a week ish but she really dove into my problems and gave me things to help I’ve never had any kind of counseling/therapy in my life and I would recommend it
Margaret is very helpful, she tries her best to really understand what you are feeling and going through, asks the right questions and gives the right responses.
Margaret is a great counselor! She makes me feel heard and works to find a solution that works for me- not just the obvious advice. I feel like she really listens to what I have to say and cares.
Margaret is really great at helping identify your personal struggles and how to go about resolving them in your own lifestyle and at your own pace. I needed someone familiar with family issues and she’s amazing with my situation. I would highly recommend her to another person.
Margaret is a very understanding person and is very open and helpful in her advice and the tools she gives me to use have brought me a long way in a short amount of time.
I've appreciated getting to know and trust Margaret over the course of the last 6 months. She is a patient listener, a good sounding board, and responds to questions and messages in a timely manner. She is above all very kind and willing to work with me to set goals, hold me accountable, and bolster my confidence in myself. As a person who struggles with depression and mood instability, the consistency of speaking with her and her words of affirmation as well as encouragement to see myself in a more positive light when my outlook is bleak has helped me come to a place of more peace. I'm grateful for her help.
Margaret was AWESOME to work with. Challenged my anxious brain to dive deep and figure out the root of some of my issues. Worked through my relationship with my parents with me. Kind, friendly, easy to talk to.
I’ve been working with Margaret for a few weeks and so far I’m impressed. I was nervous about a virtual/mobile platform and it being helpful. She’s been so responsive and checking in and really there for me. I’d highly recommend her.
Margaret is really kind and helpful to my needs. She asks questions in a way that helps me think differently about things and find some light at the end of the tunnel
She is amazing, very attentive and the most helpful person I have ever talked to!

Margaret has been helping me through a divorce. She is the best counselor I have had and I have used many apps similar to BetterHelp! She gets to know you as a person and understands what you're going through.
I love better help and Margaret has been great. Even when things are going ok and I don't need to message consistently, she takes time to reach out and check in. And when things aren't going ok, she's very responsive and helpful.
Margaret is always available and is not only a great listener, but helps me ask myself the questions I wouldn’t normally think about. I’ve found overall she has helped me immensely through high anxiety moments, or just my day to day thoughts and actions. I will continue to use all the tools and advice she’s given me throughout my life. Would recommend her to anyone seeking help.
Margaret has been a great therapist. She is always there to listen and has given me lots ideas to help with my anger.
Wonderful councilor. Listens and offers help without judgement.

Margaret holds me accountable and listens actively to my needs and concerns. Her caring is genuinely conveyed over the phone, and she is very responsive via messenger. A good counselor who is thoughtful, funny, and kind. I feel safe expressing myself honestly with her
