More about Elizabeth

  • LCSW, LICSW

Welcome! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW/LCSW) and advanced certified hospice/palliative social worker (ACHP-SW) with over 30 years of experience providing counseling and coaching services to people throughout many parts of the United States. I respect and honor your decision to seek a counselor to help you with the challenges you are going through.

I work with clients from a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, meaning that I LISTEN to you non-judgmentally, and I LEARN from you about your values and dreams, what helps you most, and what your wishes are to improve your life, your relationships, and how you are feeling. In addition to deeply hearing you and your story, I provide interventions and support based in mindfulness and insight-orientation, life coaching, and cognitive-behavioral techniques, all of which will improve your confidence and your compassion for yourself, and increase your resilience to cope with whatever challenges have come your way.

We all go through losses and unexpected change and crises at some point(s) in our lives. I am here to help you navigate these upsets, whether it is the diagnosis of a serious illness, the death of a loved one, divorce, the loss of employment, questions about your relationships and sexuality, or helping take care of your elderly parents, to name just some common challenges we all may deal with. I am an expert specifically in life and personal development coaching, career issues, grief and loss, coping with life-threatening illness, navigating medical systems, and compassion fatigue and caregiver support especially for adult children or caregivers of elderly parents.

I look forward to working side-by-side with you to improve your health, confidence, and well-being, and to help you achieve your most fulfilling, authentic, and empowered life!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Elizabeth has been a wonderful counselor - she's an incredible listener but knows the perfect moments to step in and ask the right question or provide a helpful piece of guidance. She has helped me manage my anxiety in these uncertain times and I always leave our conversations feeling stronger than I did earlier in the day.

Elizabeth Giele is a talented, warm, kind and honest therapist with an array of experience. She has a holistic approach but guides each sessions based on her client's current needs. Our sessions have helped me with my panic attacks, anxiety and depression and I was grateful to be in therapy with Elizabeth at the time of my serious car accident so that she could help me navigate my symptoms of PTSD. I have no doubt that if not for her help that I would still be struggling to drive again. I would highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone looking for someone to listen and guide you through anything from traumatic events to life's daily struggles.

i’ve been in therapy with Elizabeth for a few months now and it’s been great so far. she always listens to me and often understands exactly how i’m feeling about something before i even express it. she’s given me a variety of great ways to cope with anxiety and anger and although it’s been hard to get over those things, her suggestions really have been helping. i’m really glad i started therapy and Elizabeth has been a huge help.

Elizabeth has been incredibly helpful during a time in my life when I finally admitted to needing therapy. She's offered insights that I couldn't have come across and given me a much better peace of mind than I've had in years.

Elizabeth is exactly the ideal counselor. She listens and is truly non judgmental no matter how obscure, strange, painful or deeply personal the topic may be. My short stint with Elizabeth was incredibly productive and helpful. She is a wonderful listener and overall calming presence. She is the absolute best.

Elizabeth is a great match for me. She actively listens, quickly understands what I am saying, has great suggestions without being overbearing and is easy to talk to. I find her very respectful of my intellect and knowledge and helps me grow just that little bit more which is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is a fantastic counselor. I feel that she has helped me to better understand myself as a person, and my motivations for how/why I do things that I do. I think she has been very helpful in helping me become centered and learning to combat my own fears regarding anxiety and relationship phobias. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help. She's very good at getting you to see not only the big picture, but also your role with yourself.

Elizabeth has given me many tools to help me work through my relationship issues and my own mental health. She helped me recognize some of my self-defeating patterns and taught me how to break out of them. I’m grateful for her work and would highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling with a relationship or anxiety

I'm queer and trans and working class. She is so supportive and respectful while not being a part of my community. Still so helpful and kind. I'm not reduced to just being 'other' but rather seen as a whole human with lots of competing stresses. Also so kind and helpful about being a senior's caregiver. Highly recommended.

Reviewed April 2020

I have tried therapy on and off for 15 years, and Elizabeth is the only one I have ever connected with and it's only been a few weeks! I feel like Elizabeth actually listens to me when I vent and not only offers empathy but solutions. She is helping me learn mindful techniques to combat frequent panic attacks and cope with my anxiety. I have felt a lot better even since booking our first appointment.
