More about Madison

  • 10 years' experience
  • Female
  • LICSW, LISW, LCSW

My name is Madison and I have been providing therapy services for over 7 years in Ohio and Minnesota. I have experience working with individuals of all ages and walks of life in a variety of settings, including schools, physician's office/hospitals, and private practice.

My approach typically includes methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Some issues I specialize in include anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, interpersonal conflict, and coping with major life changes. However, I believe that every client is unique and has different needs, even if they are facing similar challenges. It is my job to figure out which approach will be most effective for you.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Social Work and my Master of Social Work degrees from the Ohio State University, where I also played division 1 hockey. As an athlete, I learned that resiliency, determination, and collaboration are important skills not only in sports, but also in life.

As a therapist, I see my clients as my teammate. We will work together towards a common goal, which we will set together. You have your strengths, and we will identify those and use them to our advantage.

The fact that you are here shows me that you are ready to make a change. Seeking support is the first and most difficult step. I am so glad that you are here, and am excited for us to work together to improve your quality of life. Welcome to our starting line!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Madison has been so compassionate and supportive and responsive--I was a little nervous using this method for therapy, but Madison has been more fantastic to work with than I ever could have imagined. We're still early in our journey together, but I had an immediate sense of relief after the first message she sent me, before even meeting her for a video session. Her weekly check in messages really help encourage further grounding and mindfulness. I'm so happy our paths crossed!
