Sean listens and tries to help

Reviewed February 2021

Sean has been the ideal experience I have been looking for in my journey of self help and awareness. He listens and understands what my concerns are and how to best approach a solution that is right for me. He has helped me understand that there can be an answer for the emotions I am going through and that I am not the only one to feel them. His personable approach has made me feel at ease in sharing whatever is weighing on my mind. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a path forward.

Awareness. It is often what is missing when you are feeling overwhelmed, out of control, or trapped by negative patterns in your life.

I will work with you to help you grow your awareness, to understand the factors within yourself, others, and the world around you that are contributing to your unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and actions. By collaborating together to reveal these hidden factors, we will bring processes and tools into sessions that are useful for helping you to set goals that move you toward greater balance in your life.

In addition to my MS in Counseling from the University of North Texas, my earlier education obtaining my BA in Social Sciences from UNT strongly influenced my cultural and community focused approach with clients. I identify as an ally for communities who can sometimes have difficulty finding safe, non-judgmental therapeutic resources, such as those with concerns with LGBTQIA identity, sexual health, and alternative or ethical non-monogamous relationships.

As someone who has learned to achieve while living with ADHD, and who has long been a social ally against oppression, I can appreciate what it is to struggle in situations that seem stacked against you. In every relationship I strive to be a resource to the voiceless, the misunderstood, and anyone who might hesitate to get help out of fear of judgement.

Additional specialized skills I can bring into sessions when appropriate include meditation, dream analysis, creative art, transpersonal analysis, socratic dialogue, and positive habit reinforcement.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
