Hello!

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Indiana with approximately 8 years of experience as a therapist. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in social work from Indiana University and have had the pleasure of working with all age groups, though I mostly have worked with adults and adolescents. Common concerns I've worked with include trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, personality disorders, self-harm, and adjustment disorders.

As a therapist, I am supportive, encouraging, and look for the best in people. Everyone has strengths, and I work towards helping people recognize and use these strengths to meet their goals and develop new strategies along the way. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, accepted, safe, respected, and empowered. Authenticity is important, so it's my hope that you'll feel comfortable being yourself, knowing that you can openly express what is on your mind, and that there will be no judgement in return. My style tends to be laid back, conversational, collaborative, and utilizes humor when appropriate. I commonly use a variation of cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, humanistic approaches, attachment theories, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. Essentially, I believe that you are more than any of the challenges that brought you here, so treatment planning will be specific to you, not a diagnosis or label.

Finding a good match with a therapist is incredibly important, so you are more than welcome to reach out and ask questions that might be needed to start the process and to feel more comfortable. I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Taylor is an amazing therapist! She listens and always offers insightful advice (I always make sure to have a notebook handy to write down her suggestions!). She has a fantastic memory and has been really great at helping me identify and work out the best way to deal with my core issues. Would highly recommend her to anyone!

Taylor is a wonderful counselor. She listens extremely well and she always has great responses and solutions. She’s always actively listening to what’s going on and she never makes me feel anything less than cared about.

Ms. Kent is fantastic. She knows the right things to say that helps calm me down and feel better. She has a nice down to earth approach which makes it easy to talk to her.

Taylor is the best counselor I have ever worked with. She is always very positive and supportive, empathetic and friendly. I really enjoy our sessions, since I feel like i can talk about absolutely anything without being judged, deal with issues and find solutions to my problems. I have made a lot of progress recovering from the old trauma and becoming able to see my current life and future in a more positive way. I'm looking forward to every session and while the change is never easy, I am truly enjoying the change I'm going through.

I can't tell you whether on a technical level Taylor is the best counsellor in the entire western hemisphere, or a fraud who found her qualifications in a box of Golden Grahams. However what I do know is that I am fearful of where I would be without her. She is relatable, dynamic and seemingly unflappable, and this inspires confidence and trust in 'the process' and in myself to follow through with it. Rather than feeling cajoled or shunted towards taking certain actions, we work together, which is very important to me. In short order I already feel like I could tell her anything and her response would be, at the very least, non-judgmental. And who on earth does not need that in their life right now? Taylor Kent may well be my saviour. Perhaps she is the saviour of humanity... no pressure ;)

Taylor is an understanding person and takes time to read/listen to what you’ve got to say without rushing through. I have also been given worksheets by Taylor which I find useful and I think I this is a good idea to help you to understand a different side to things and also helps your current situation. I feel comfortable talking to Taylor and feel I can share my thoughts and feelings without being judged.

Taylor Kent is super awesome! She made me feel comfortable from the get go. I picked her because of her experience with BPD which I have and she has given me lots of tools to learn how to change my behavior and mindset. She is very supportive of any decision I make and always makes sure I know that whatever it may be that we will work through it! Highly recommend!
