I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC) in California and New Mexico with 22 years experience in a variety of settings, including: psychiatrist office, inpatient psychiatric hospital and private practice. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.

My areas of specialized focus include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and trauma recovery. I am a Certified Grief Educator and strive to provide compassionate support to those struggling through grief and loss. I primarily utilize the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. Although we have only had a couple sessions over the phone, Rebecca has asked me questions that I may not have been able to answer at the time, but I write down notes and then go back over them and find a lot of information that I then research. I am a slightly different patient in that way. For instance, she wants me to journal. So, I spent an entire afternoon online choosing the best prompts, not only for my anxiety, but for my self esteem, depression and emotional intelligence. Due to her advice, I now have 10 pages of prompts printed and answer them randomly. I am happy with my choice to go with Rebecca!

She is always so professional. I know I can be a cry baby but I don’t feel judged by her. She makes a point to send me encouraging messages and sometimes it is exactly what I need to hear. And I have told my boss and parents what a nice smile she has and it makes you feel like you are in a safe place. At times I think she has saved me. Ms. Jarrell is a sympathetic (warm and accepting) and insightful therapist. I feel I can talk to her about all aspects of my life which is key to deriving the best outcome from a therapist.
