I am a licensed clinical social worker with ten years of experience providing individual therapy and family therapy services. I have worked with individuals ages 8 through adulthood with a variety of presenting challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, work stress, traumatic and adverse experiences, as well as LGBTQ related struggles. I approach the therapeutic relationship with compassionate curiosity and a respect to the person’s unique experience.
My experience is varied and across settings. I have provided services in community clinics, telehealth, homebound therapy, as well school-based mental health clinic. The foundation of my therapeutic understanding comes from the premise that our primary suffering is borne from our conditions and that we have understandable reactions to painful and adverse experiences. I strive to provide warmth, comfort and respect in the therapeutic relationship.
My therapy style is eclectic and derived from relational-humanistic, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and motivational interviewing therapy approaches. My promise is to work with you and listen to your needs and help you determine which approach will work best for you and tailor treatment to suit those needs. Whether that is a wish to develop insight or needing symptom relief and improved daily function; my hope is we can work together to achieve that for you.
It takes a lot of strength to work toward a more fulfilling life, especially when we are not feeling our best. I am here to support you in this goal.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

She is so great - and has helped me in so many ways.
I love the way Danielle listens and provides recommendations based on all scenarios. She takes extremely care in her practice and always makes sure you feel comfortable speaking about all things with her. I haven’t had this experience with a therapist in a long while and I am so happy to have found her.
Invaluable daily/weekly help. Exceptional!
It's been a great experience - and Danielle McDonaugh has helped me tremendously for a number of years now.
My therapist is great - very caring and intuitive and can interpret things I do or experience for me and express them in a way that seems pertinent to me and logical.
A savior!
A great review - 100% plus another 100%!
Always there - a safety net / a lifeline.
Danielle McDonaugh has such an insightful overview about everything I am going through and experiencing. She stays connected, checks in with me if I don’t message her in a couple of days, and she has always been available when I really need her. She guides me through challenging things and is extremely supportive, helping me work towards achieving the things I want most at this point of my life. I could not imagine this past year without her.
Danielle McDonaugh is the absolute best. Really is in totally sync with everything going on with me - and is so extremely helpful in putting perspective on it all. She got me through a terrible period in my life - one of major unexpected change - and got me past it all to the other side. And now she is helping me move forward! I just can not imagine how I would have gotten through the past 9 months without her!
Danielle has been an absolute rock for me these past couple of months. She has supported me through a serious period of depression and elevated anxiety during which I felt like I had nothing else to turn to in order to keep me anchored. I continue to have severe ups and downs and moments of distress. Not only does she help me work through the deeper issues during our sessions, but is responsive in times of need between scheduled sessions and has many times now taken time out of her day to get on a spontaneous call with me and help me through when I’m panicking. She is genuinely caring while also being highly educated, curious, and passionate about getting to the root of the issues. She uses a variety of techniques and is great at sensing what you need during a particular session, never taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I highly recommend her to anyone going through a tough period.
