The times I have reached out to Sarah she has responded back in a timely manner. I thought I wouldn't be able to reach out to her when an issue comes up, but surprisingly it's easy to. So far I'm satisfied with her as my counselor and wait to see more progress and improvement as we continue this journey.

Hi there! My name is Sarah McArthur and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In my time as a therapist, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families on issues ranging from struggles with life changes and adjustments, to the challenges that arise from substance use/abuse. Some other areas I've worked with include anxiety, depression, pre-marital concerns, LGBTQIA, relationship issues, and familial conflicts.

My treatment approach is client/person-centered where I act as a supportive guide along whatever journey you are on. I recognize how difficult it can be to reach out for help of any sort, so I commend you for even getting to this point. My objective is to make sure that you feel comfortable and safe enough to process any experience or challenge, while providing the necessary coping skills to navigate your individual lives.

Not only is Dr. McArthur a wonderful consoler who feels safe and and easy to talk to, I feel that, most importantly, she cares about me as a person and genuinely wants the best for me. I feel like I can tell her anything and while she may not always have the answers, she does provide an empathetic presence and mental techniques that change my frame of thinking; Monday's have become my favorite day of the week because Dr. McArthur is such a positive force in my life.

Talking to Sarah is equivalent to speaking with that friend that is stern but loves you. I never feel judged, or misguided and as a result I leave each session with more confidence, trust within myself and the mantra "I can handle it!".

Reviewed April 2021

Sarah is incredible. I feel validated and supported but she points out my misguided thoughts as well. She asks thought provoking questions that help me Get to the crux of my issues and helps me set realistic expectations. I choose phone Calls because video is distracting for me and we’ve messaged in between sessions as well. She responds to me the same day and usually with an open ended question for me to ponder or write back! I am amazed at how fast I clicked with her and I look forward to my weekly sessions!
