I started my sessions with Amy in 2018, and she has been a key component to my mental health maintenance ever since! I have always felt so lucky to have gotten matched with Amy right away when I signed up for BH, she popped into my life right when I needed it most! She’s since grown to be one of the people I trust most in life on a multitude of levels. Sessions with Amy are always no pressure and she allows me to lead with what is really important to me at the time. She remembers and follows up with subjects from previous sessions or on-going issues. Amy has given me many tools for my mental health, both figuratively and literally- meaning she sends me helpful documents and tools I can read/reference outside of our time. (ie. list of Cognitive Distortions I printed/hung-up as a reminder to reset my mindset) I have never had a problem scheduling with Amy. She was even flexible with me when I had a 2hr work commute and couldn’t talk till late some weeks. On the occasion where I needed to reschedule a session she has always tried to find an open spot, but will make sure I get scheduled the soonest that works for both of our schedules. I have always been able to message her and have found her to be good with replying in a timely manner. I have found her advice and guidance to be very helpful and honest. In discussions she is not pushy at all and will help me through the topic at hand with guided questions that help me to have needed realizations myself. She’s good at making me feel like my problems/feelings/etc are valid, but also relatable or doable enough that I don’t feel as alone or overly anxious. She makes me feel like I am a mental health survivor with the tools to keep any challenges from getting the better of me, and reminds me of what I have faced and overcome already as a person and that I should feel proud of that. Personally, I feel like I have built a relationship with Amy and like she genuinely cares for me and my mental health. I trust her, I feel like she is always honest with me (even with the hard stuff) and I feel comfortable speaking or sharing personal feelings with her. She has a way of communicating that is professional, judgement free, reassuring, and provides the comfortable feeling of talking to a “motherly type” figure or an old friend. All around I think Amy is a professional who cares about her job, her clients, and doing the right thing. She is a good person and caring councilor who I trust. 10/10 - Will continue to take care of myself.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I have received so much help from Amy since starting my sessions with her and we've just barely started. She's so understanding and very honest and I always feel better after talking. I'm having better sessions now with her and this app than I ever did with traditional counseling. She's a non-judgmental, open, creative third party and she listens to everything. She was my original match too! Hoping to keep her services for a long time!
