Sometimes you need help and can't manage all by yourself. Sometimes you need objective, compassionate, and professional advice that will help you gain insight and courage to make changes in your life so that can live a full and rewarding life. Sometimes you need to be reminded that you are a wonderful unique person with gifts and talents yet to be realized.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep desire to help individuals overcome their mental and emotional problems using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach . Your thoughts are the drivers of who you are and what you can become and do. Negative thoughts can sabotage your life in many areas - your well being, your relationships, your career, your past, your present and your future. I would find it a pleasure to help you capture those negative thoughts, feelings and behavior patterns that keep you from your best using cognitive behavioral strategies that have been scientifically proven to be successful.

I also like to help my clients understand from a scientific perspective just what is going on in their brain-feelings-body in simple terms so that as they learn/practice coping skills that help them to make sense of the reasons they got stuck in the first place - and gain insight into learning/growing from their past pain.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 14 years. I graduated from The University of Houston-Victoria with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have worked at the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Psychological Division, Texana Center, Baylor College of Medicine, BetterHelp, Faithful Counseling, Teladoc and Amwell.

I firmly believe that no matter who you are - what your age - it is never too late to go for your dreams. You are Unique! You have Purpose! Let me help you to uncover the wonderful parts of you that have been covered by the misfortunes that inevitably occur in life.

Kimberley has been a blessing in my life. I have done lots of counseling with psychologists, in person, and was a bit worried about online counseling as I don't usually do much online to begin with - in terms of social lifestyle. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was very much like traditional face to face counseling but with a written record that I could go back to read for encouragement and techniques. This way I don't have to book or schedule any specific time or be on call with my feelings when a traditional appointment is booked. Having a place to dump all my thoughts on and get a response within 24 - 48 hours is so helpful. It's like having an emergency counselor on call for me and has really helped me to be honest about my feelings. Another wonderful thing about Kimberley is that she has a very personal way of relating back to what I have told her and being reflective in her response with care. I am very blessed to have found this method and Kimberley and I look forward to hearing back from her always.

She is absolutely wonderful. She loves to help meet your reason you came to better help. She loves to crack a few good jokes when appropriate which in my case I loved. I needed that occasional smile with how deep some of my scars and battles were. She worked well around my 2 jobs and was understanding when I was running a little behind due to work. It was easy to talk to her and with her with her sweet and very genuine caring personality. She felt like a close mom or older sister looking out for me and there for me in every way possible. I have no doubt she would have hugged me a few times if it were possible. She is still my councilor, but a friend/sister/mom. If it makes sense, she balanced all of that well on how and when to respond this or that way. She would see where I'm at in a situation I'm sharing with her and I liked how open and honest she was about other possibilities, perspectives etc in situation to help me understand more than just where I'm coming from. She really is helpful and loving. She is there for her clients 1000% muah :-*

Reviewed January 2020

I really like Kimberley; she has lots of patience with me. I'm a mess and I can tell the difference when I am able to work with her and when I'm not able. Sometimes I can't pay and I can tell that I'm not the same, not nearly as positive. She's a great help to me. The counselors through my insurance do NOTHING except prescribe meds, there is not talking, no listening, just pills. That's why I like this better; I get to have an exchange of words which is more of what I need instead of drugs.

Reviewed November 2018

I like having Mrs Maxwell as my counselor because I don't feel judged for being in the place that I was when I do first started counseling through better help. I told her I've seen unusual things before and that I've been through some visually and mentally challenging events that I usually don't feel comfortable talking about with anybody else as it would make me feel that I would be a freak or an outcast for being mentally ill the way that I had been before, and even then when I talk about what I've experienced, I feel listened to, I feel considered, and I feel comfortable to mention that I feel I'm actually getting better. Talking about what's going on with me through BetterHelp helps me build a sense of understanding through, according to Maxwell, scientific approaches to understanding what really goes on in my mind.

Kim came to my aid at a low point in my life when my dad was ill and slipping into dementia that included saying some hurtful things to me. I was able to talk through, via texting at my request, the story and have found it relieved the anxiety I was experiencing. I found a compromise with him that allows me to visit with him when my sister is there - she calls me on FaceTime and I get a chance to visit with him. But I've removed myself from trying to listen to him when he slips into dementia and i try to make sense of what he is saying only to realize that he isn't thinking clearly. I feel like I have peace again thanks to the Lord using Kim in my life. I highly recommend her if you are struggling with an issue. She is compassionate and thoughtful.

Reviewed July 2018

Reviewed July 2018

Working with Kimberley these past couple of months has been amazing. I've learned things about my own thoughts, emotions and feelings that I didn't even know about myself because nobody has ever thought to ask me the questions that she did. She's taught me and helped me to understand my thoughts and emotions, accept them, rewire them, combat them when I need to. She's helped me to be able to live my life and feel my emotions, all of them, in a healthy way, instead of resorting to being numb and not allowing myself to feel anything at all like I've done in the past.
