Hello. I am a licensed mental health counselor. I have been in the field for 9 years. I have worked in various settings including: out-patient, in-patient chemical dependency and in-patient mental health, day treatment programs and the emergency department. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals struggling with trauma, chemical dependency, mood and anxiety disorders, autism, ADHD, schizophrenia, relationship and family issues, gender identity, career and education, and others.

My counseling style is warm and empathetic. I enjoy a collaborative relationship between counselor and client. You are, after all, your own best resource. I am merely here to help you tap into some skills that will help you along in your journey. I use a multi-mode approach to counseling and borrow from the following: cognitive behavior therapy, Rational Living Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Feminist theory, mindfulness, and music. I really enjoy teaching coping skills such as breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation. I like to practice them along with you so that you can truly understand them and utilize the skills on your own.

Asking for help can feel overwhelming. Validate yourself for taking this important first step to changing your life. I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
